WILLIAM DITMARS, Born July 29, 1825 in the town of Ovid, near Farmer Village, Seneca county, State of New York. Son of Peter Ditmars and Eliza Everett, his wife. Lived near Farmer Village, town of Ovid, till 1831; removed with his parents to the town of Fayette, near Canoga, Seneca County, in 1840; went to live in Trumansburg, Tompkins county. Leaving there after a year or two, lived at several places on the Erie railroad, State of New York; went to the state of Michigan; lived near Grand Rapids [Kent Co.]; moved to Missouri; died at Moberly, Missouri, Tuesday, December 9, 1878; buried at Burlington, Iowa.
